MO-Kan participated in the Prairie Village, KS, Amanda's Dog Festival, on Setember 7, 2008, at Porter Park. We had a great turnout with many interested visitors to our booth. At least 2 people with cats were interested in therapy work. It was a great time and worthy of our participation. Joyce Maas coordinated our effort with Carol Wells, Sonya Stroh and Sue Manning as helpers.

| KNOW ME, KNOW MY DOG - JULY 19, 2008 |
|
KNOW ME, KNOW MY DOG
49 days.....That is the optimum time to evaluate the genetic characteristics which determine the basic personality of a puppy. Fran Ballard, a AKC instructor and kennel owner, from Springfield, MO, taught us how to perform a puppy evaluation. We learned the 10 basic direct criteria that are used to indicate a puppy's positive or negative responses. We learned the range of responses that would indicate how appropriate a puppy would behave in the future life the puppy would lead. Responses would vary for a potential therapy dog, working dog, or beloved companion. It was a very interesting evening and everyone in attendance learned how to complete a basic evaluation.
Those in attendance were:
Patty Levine Kim Anderson Lisa and Clayton Mark Merrily Shultz Carol Bono (a guest from Topeka, KS) Carol Wells Cindy Lance (visitor) Sonya Stroh Debra Baker Shirley May Joyce Maas Sue and Clarence Manning Joanna Wolfe Rhonda Brown
