New Business:
Merrily Shultz made a motion for Dues Abatement for those members holding the positions of Evaluator, Instructor and R.E.A.D. coordinator.  Members must perform those duties within the year to be eligible for the abatement.  The motion carried with a unanimous vote.

The meeting was adjourned and the special speaker was introduced.

Melody Kelso from Pet Connection was our special speaker.  Pet Connection is a cageless humane society that was established in 1999 in Mission, KS.  Their mission is to comfort, train, rehabilitate, and re-home homeless pets.  They have many outreach programs for training and behavioral help at a low cost to approved clients.  They save many animals from kill shelters.  In 2002, they began a spay/neuter service and serviced over 7000 animals.  They offer low cost specialty surgical care to approved clients.  They have a small staff and usually 100 animals and are always looking for volunteers.

Please go to www.petfiners.com and vote for them.  There are cash prices that the organization could win to help their financial cause.

Melody asked that our brochures be added in the lobby and they can put a link to our website from their website.

Melody gave a very interesting program which was enjoyed by the entire membership.
